Book Review - Love You More by Jennifer Grant
This book is a non-fiction story of Jennifer Grant and her life and the adoption of her 2 year old daughter, Mia. The story tells of what lead Jennifer to adoption and the process. She tells of her struggles with the adoptions process because there is a lot of paperwork and waiting. Her struggle with learning patience because she was very excited and then having so much paperwork and people and different legal departments and there was so much that had to be done before they could have their baby come home. She told of her struggle of the ups and downs of waiting and helping her birth children get ready for a baby sister that would be different than them. She also gave tips for other families who are thinking about adoption and who should or shouldn’t adopt.
I have really started thinking about adopting and foster care. I love children and would love to have my own but at the same time I don’t need them to be my own. I believe that I could share my love with the children of this world that don’t have parents or a family and this book helped me realize I really would love to learn more about this and see if this can become a reality for me. Jennifer Grant wrote a beautiful story about her love for Mia and told her struggles so honestly and gave us an inside view on the realities of adoption, the big one being the wait for your child. I loved the book. I enjoyed reading it. It was suspense or a book that you couldn’t put down, which was hard for me because I am not used to that so it took me much longer to read, especially with the holidays but I was happy when I finished it and saw all the resources for more books on adoption. I highly recommend this book for nonfiction, life stories, and mommy book people!

Book Reveiw - His Steadfast Love by Golden Keyes Parson
His Steadfast Love tells an amazing story of love, loss, trial, and the struggles of life during the Civil War of the U.S. The story had me emotionally cheering on Amanda or wanting to cry with her in her struggles and worries. I even had a little rebellious streak come out when I wished she would go against some of the things she was held so strong to. The story was great and I enjoyed it. The storyline and timeline that went along with it was good. It had a good theme and pace and also it kept me interested; I always wanted to go back and keep reading and at some points kept me on my toes. The only things I really struggled with was the some of the times between the chapters when there was gaps of time in between the chapters. I just felt it was a little empty and even if it had no story interest in the time in between it just felt empty and made me a little confused at first. As I got about halfway through the book I caught along with the changes of time and I was thankful for the dates at the beginning of the chapters. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire story of the struggle and the civil war era was interesting. I know not all plantations and farms were good to their slaves but this showed true Christian charity/love that they knew that slaves were human and that they needed to be treated and respected like anyone else needs respect and humanity. If I were to rate this book on a scale of 1-10 and ten being perfect and amazing I would give it a 7, it was very interesting and fun.
